Budapest: It Could Have Been So Beautiful

In collaboration with Transavia, Aerodynamics transported four Boeing 737-800s filled with football supporters to Budapest.

With a healthy dose of orange fever, flags and chanting, three special charter flights departed from Schiphol and one from Eindhoven, all bound for the Hungarian capital. The goal: to support Oranje in the European Championship match against the Czech Republic.

The atmosphere onboard was exuberant, with supporters brimming with confidence ahead of the match. "It feels like we are about to make history," said one passenger queuing to board. Upon arrival in Budapest, the streets around the Puskás Aréna quickly turned orange, with singing and celebrations filling the city ahead of kick-off.

Unfortunately, the evening ended on a disappointing note for the fans. Following a 2-0 defeat, the Netherlands headed home without the coveted quarter-final spot. The mood on the return flights was understandably far more subdued, although many fans remained proud of the journey and the unique experience. "It could have been so beautiful, but we represented our country," said one supporter who, despite the result, made the best of the trip.
